Arcana for beginners
What the five cards do, where they drop, how to level and craft them — and a simple plan to follow.
A general overview for every class. Card names, stats and set bonuses come from the game data; which cards and skill lines your class wants is in the Arcana section of its guide. metabot.gggameplay.tipsquestlog.gg

What arcana are

Arcana are five card slots next to your gear. They open at level 45 and start to matter at Transcendence (item level 1,600). Every card gives item level, one deity stat and extra levels on some of your skills; two or four cards of the same set add a set bonus.

Set bonuses
Primal Vigor
- 2× +60 PvE Attack when HP is 70% or more
- 4× +150 PvE Attack when HP is 70% or more
Magic Armor
- 2× Restores 1,500 MP when MP is 20% or less [30s cooldown]
- 4× +1,000 PvE Defense when MP is 50% or more
Stigma skills are on no card. A card's skill lines are rolled when it drops — check them before you invest.
Grades and item level

Every card comes in four grades. The grade sets its item level, the size of its stat, how many skill lines it rolls and how far it can be leveled — the same for all five slots.
| Grade | Item level | Stat | Skill lines | Max level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grey | 20 → 22 | 8 → 10 | 1 | +2 |
| Green | 40 → 43 | 12 → 15 | 2 | +3 |
| Blue | 60 → 64 | 16 → 20 | 3 | +4 |
| Gold | 80 → 85 | 20 → 25 | 4 | +5 |
After the arrow: the card at its max level. Each level adds +1 item level and +1 to the stat.
Early on only item level counts: a full green set is +200 item level, blue +300, gold +400 (+425 fully leveled). Put a card in every slot and swap it when a better grade drops — set bonuses can wait.
Where cards come from
- Transcendence. It opens at item level 1,600; each higher stage (★1 to ★4) asks for more item level and drops better grades.
Chalice of Vigor and
Chalice of Magic only drop on ★4. - The two Transcendence dungeons drop different slots — run both to fill all five.
- Leveling material and crafting crystals drop there too; more comes from shops, the battle pass and attendance rewards.
Leveling a card

Feed a card leveling material or spare cards. It can't fail: each level adds +1 item level, +1 to the card's stat and +1 to one of its skill lines, picked at random.
- Plan for about +2 on the skill you want from a fully leveled card — the rest of the luck lands on its other lines.
- Spend leveling material on cards you'll keep, gold ones first. A leveled card fed into a better one passes on most of its EXP, so the work isn't lost.
- Copies of the same card give extra EXP when you feed them.
Crafting cards
Spare cards can be broken down into crystals, and crystals buy a gold card of the slot and set you choose.
- For more crystals you can also pick up to two of its skill lines; the rest are random.
- Craft
Chalice of Vigor or
Chalice of Magic last: it rolls from all your skills, so aim it at whichever key skill is still short of 20. - Spend crystals on a slot that won't drop for you, not one you can farm.
- Crafting options change with each season — check them in game before you save up.
A simple plan
- Fill all five slots now. Any grade beats an empty slot.
- Pick a set: four Primal Vigor cards for the most PvE Attack, or two Primal Vigor and two Magic Armor for Attack plus an MP refill. Early on, a card with the right skills beats a card from the right set.
- Aim your key skills at level 20: skill points give 10, Daevanion up to 4 more, and rings and arcana close the gap.
- Don't overspend. Season 1 cards are replaced when Season 2 brings new ones.
